Whether you are aware or not, you are branding yourself everyday… and the winning logo!

Before I show you my new logo, here is a quick personal update.

Family is doing well and Ethan is growing up fast.  He is 6 1/2 weeks old now and growing fast!  We just captured his first smile on camera last week and that was a lifetime memorable moment.

Today we are going to talk briefly about marketing and branding yourself… but before I start, I want to reveal my new logo that you guys helped me choose!  Thanks for all who helped me pick out my logo!… so here it is… here is the winner!

Thanks for all your comments during the voting.  I read every comment and it was very helpful.  It turned out the winning logo was also the one I had liked the most… but I had wanted YOU; my friends, my team members and my fans to help me make the decision… so thanks again!

So here were the results:

MARKETING AND BRANDING YOURSELF

Whether you are in a business or not… every one of you are a certain brand.  Your brand is what people think about you in your work place, in your social environment and community.

Your brand is the first thing that comes to mind when your name is brought up.

It does not matter if you are in business or not, your brand is important.  It affects your relationships and how people view you.  When your name comes up, what do people think about?  What is the first word?…. is it a word that is an adjective and describes your personality?… such as “good guy”….”honesty”….”successful”… “motherly”… “career-driven”… “integrity”… etc, etc, etc.

or…

is it a noun (subject) such as “golfer”… “businessman”… “father”… “mother”… “manager”… “goof ball”…

If you were to ask people 10 words that describe you, what would they be?

Hopefully, they would be all positive words!  Also, are the words that people describe you the same words that you would describe yourself?  If there are any discrepancies, then you have to ask yourself, what could you be doing better?

So you may ask, what is the IMPORTANCE of all this personal branding/marketing?

It does not matter if you are in a business or not, but your personal brand matters!

Why?

Because whether you like it or not, your image and how others perceive you as will more or less determine your success in life.  That is the reality.  We live in a world where relationships are important and if your image is “low integrity”, what type of relationships will you attract into your life?  On the other hand, would you have a hard time attracting good healthy relationships if people know you are “humble” and “honest”… or “confident?”

So how do you work on improving your brand image?

The best advice I can give you is to remember is that “everything counts“.  Every action that you take, whether it is something you say, do or do not do, creates your brand.  How you walk down the street… how you look… how you carry yourself… all creates your brand.

Remember… everything counts!

It’s also important to note that just like we look down on fake and counterfeit goods, people look down on fake/counterfeit brands.  Ask yourself, are you faking the image you project or you are real to the core?

So ask yourself today:
1) what are 10 words that others would describe you?
2) how would you like others to describe you?
3) based on your answer to #2, what do you need to do to make that happen?

If you have a business or a home business and have difficulty in attracting better partners and people, then the 3 questions are even MORE IMPORTANT to your long term success.
