Talk about how life changes!
This past week my wife and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary!
I am grateful and blessed to have such a great wife. I’m thankful for her love and support.
Our five years together have gone by so quickly. I was making a special online card for her and chose a card that allowed me to showcase at least five pictures, where each picture would represent a memory from each year of our marriage.
It was no easy task.
I had to scan through over 35,000 pictures!
You see, when Ethan was born, I made the decision to take at least one picture or video of him EVERY DAY. Of course, it never ended with just one picture. Now, after two years, we have over 35,000 pictures of him!
But they are totally worth it because the memories are priceless.
As I went through the photos I was shocked by how fast he is growing.
Because I see him every day, I don’t realize the daily changes.
But if I compare yesterday’s pictures to last month’s, I can easily see how much taller he is and how he has more hair.
Short Term Changes Are Not Obvious
Maybe you have gone through the same experience.
Do you have kids?
Or maybe you are an uncle or aunt or know someone who has kids?
Normally, the one who is raising the kids is like me; he or she never realizes how much the kids are growing since they see them on a day-to-day basis.
When you are so close to the change, the changes are not obvious.
But if you take a step back and look at it from a big picture, the changes are obvious.
When you see someone once in awhile, or in my situation, when I went back to look at pictures of my son, you are always shocked at how much they have grown physically and mentally.
The same idea applies to how we are changing everyday.
What’s Not Obvious to You is Obvious to Others
A few days ago, I just talked to one of my new Mastermind Coaching members, Julia Qin. She recently earned her first weekly $1,000 USD check, and she rank advanced to Silver Director in her MLM business.
I asked her how she did it, and she said it was just a matter of time. She knew sooner or later it would happen.
As long as you keep doing what you are supposed to do, you grow as a person and your change becomes obvious to the people around you. Once her friends saw the positive changes, they joined her business.
She added that the tough part is to stay persistent. You must be consistent with your actions even if the changes are not obvious.
You may not see the changes and how you are getting better because you are too close to the situation.
However, you ARE changing!
It’s the same scenario as Ethan and me.
Ethan is growing everyday, but it’s hard for me to see the changes because I’m too close to the situation.
In network marketing, as long as you are doing the income producing activities, such as the 5 Core Production Activities, you will grow and get better each day. It’s just a matter of time before you become successful.
In MLM, people ALWAYS BUY how you change.
As long as you continue in your journey, people will sooner or later buy YOU and join your organization.
That is exactly what happened to Julia. On the week of her rank advancement, she enrolled at least five distributors that she had been following up with for a long time.
What Changes Are You Going Through?
We are all changing everyday.
Literally.
Old cells are dying, and new cells are growing.
Someone once told me that our entire body is made up of new cells every two years.
I don’t know whether that is true or not, but regardless, we are changing.
If you don’t believe me, just look at past pictures of yourself, or take a picture of yourself today and then go and look at it three months from now.
We are always changing.
The question is whether we are changing for the better or for the worse.
How are you changing?
How are you growing?
Are you getting better or worse?
Most importantly, how can you tell?
