Your attitude and mental approach matter most when you face the challenges thrown at you.
You Always Act the Way You See Yourself
The first step is understanding that we always act the way we see ourselves.
How we view ourselves is called your self-concept
If you see yourself as a good mother, you’ll want to do everything you can to be a good mother.
If you consider yourself physically fit, you’re going to exercise even on the days when you don’t feel like it.
If you feel like you’re a healthy eater, you’ll do your best to eat healthily.
If you view yourself as someone who is not really into healthy eating, you’ll find yourself eating a lot of junk food.
Since you always act according to the way that you see yourself, you have to stop seeing yourself as someone who is not consistent.
Instead, you must start seeing yourself as someone who is consistent!
But how can you do that if you don’t have a track record of success?!
Let Go of the Past
You can’t start seeing yourself as mentally tough and consistent if you allow your past to hold you back.
I’m always teach my coaching clients that you must let the past go and remind yourself each day that:
Yesterday is history, today is a mystery, and tomorrow is my legacy.
Start seeing yourself as the new you.
Why? You’re already a new you because you’re reading this book!
Each word that you read is changing you. Every new idea you read and
everything you’re learning is creating a new you! I want you to start seeing yourself as the new you, as someone who gets more consistent each day.
If you start seeing yourself this way, the magic will happen and you’ll start actually becoming more consistent every day.
How does this magic work?
It’s because the way we act mirrors how we see ourselves!
And here’s the coolest part.
You get to make the decision of who you want to be.
There’s no one out there who says you’re born a certain way and have to be like that for the rest of your life.
You can change!
