Chicago: First Time Traveling in 7 Months
I was in Chicago all of last week. It was the first business trip where I had to fly in over seven months.
I used to travel at least once a month, but nowadays I minimize traveling so I can be with my son, Ethan.
The day before I left, we took Ethan to the Long Beach aquarium. He had a great time running around, which made it super tiring for me because I was chasing him, holding him, etc.
We all had a good time, but I was so exhausted. 90 minutes of Ethan at the aquarium was more tiring than three hours at the gym!
Return to Chicago
It was my first time going back to Chicago in almost nine years, and it brought back a lot of memories. The last time I was there I was working at the NBA.
I was on the court when Michael Jordan played his last game for the Chicago Bulls in Chicago in 1998. The opening intros, when they turned off the lights and announced Jordan’s name to the sellout crowd, still rank as the #1 most electrifying live experience that I’ve attended.
Reason I Went to Chicago
The main reason I was in Chicago was the IDC (Independent Distributor Council) meetings with USANA’s Corporate Staff.
I am proud to serve on the IDC, representing over 80,000 distributors in the United States.
We have teleconferences every month, and we meet on location twice a year. The last time we met was in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I submitted many of the suggestions that distributors had sent to me. If you are a USANA distributor who lives in the USA and have suggestions or comments, please let me know.
The IDC is not only an opportunity to serve, but more importantly, it is a Mastermind.
It is where top distributors from all backgrounds come together to share their ideas and give feedback on the company’s new initiatives
The IDC allows distributors to contribute to make the company better. The meetings are also super motivating because there are networking opportunities with other successful distributors.
During the week, we got wined and dined, and had time to have fun as well.
USANA’s Cross Regional Event
Another highlight was being part of an amazing event held by USANA Health Sciences. Aside from providing distributors the latest training on prospecting sales tips, social media and product training, it was another fantastic networking opportunity.
My business partner, Scott McGee and I also received two awards for being a 3 Star Diamond Director and for being one of the top income earners in USANA.

It’s great to be back home, but it was a fantastic week.
So many things happened, but the BEST part was serving on the IDC.
I loved sharing the ideas and being part of a Mastermind. I came away learning more things, and I am also more motivated.
